The heart stoppingly beautiful melody that opens the third movement of Schumann’s piano quartet was the catalyst for the formation of this new and exciting ensemble. They made their debut to critical acclaim in December 2011. Based in Oxford, this talented group of musicians, whose varied careers take them all over the world, are enchanting audiences around the country with the wonderful wealth of piano and strings repertoire. They are lucky to have a fabulous rehearsal space in Charlotte’s studio in Blewbury where they also give regular concerts which have become extremely popular.
A flexible ensemble, the Millbrooks’s have an ongoing collaboration with baritone Richard Burkhard.
Since forming they have been invited to play at the Jaqueline du Pre Hall and Trinity College, Oxford, Mandeville Place, London, Art in Action, Oxford, Blewbury Festival, Claydon House (Aylesbury Festival) and various Music Societies.
Forthcoming engagements include recitals at Chapel Royal, Brighton, Abbey Concerts, Abingdon and St. John’s Smith Square, London.
